Surgery is done......we are home!!

We are home. We are just trying to keep our minds off of the pain and the cast. He will probably be in the cast until around the 17th. We go back for a check with the Dr. on the 10th (Jon Jon's bday). Jon Jon is being such a trooper. He handles all of this so much better than I do. He just rolls with whatever is thrown at him! He did great at the surgery center yesterday. He was full of his normal personality. He told the doctor he was late. He also said the doctor was late because he was probably home watching cartoons. Jon Jon also talked the staff into letting him pick an additional toy to take home to his brother. He knows how to work the cuteness! In the picture, you can see Jon Jon right after surgery. You can see Blue Baby (the doll he got in the Bunny Tunnel before...she has followed him to every surgery since his first surgery in Jan. 2008), a black dog stuffed animal he got for himself yesterday at the surgery center, and the basketball is the toy he picked out yesterday at the surgery center for Ethan.



The doctor ended up releasing/ removing some scar tissue, moving some muscle and breaking/ rotating the finger bone. Lots of things to one little finger/ hand. I may not even have all of that right and I know the terminology is not accurate. That is just what I remember. ( I do not actually remember all they said. Basically, I just know he had surgery and anesthesia again.) Hopefully, it will all be great for Jon Jon as he grows. Jon Jon's hand is in a cast. One cast is SO much easier than the four that we dealt with the first surgery!! However, Jon Jon is a bit frustrated because it is his left hand. He cannot do as much with his right hand, so we are having to help him WAY more than he would like! He is such a Mr. Independent. Needing the extra help is not that much fun for him!


Right now we are just hanging out watching Sesame Street. He is in some pain, but handling it like a champ!!
