CLS Alumni Picnic

Camp Lake Stephens had its first Alumni Picnic in August. We all went for the day. It was such a wonderful event that gave families such a unique opportunity to have a super time together. The boys loved swimming in the lake and fishing. They did not try the zipline. Both said they want to wait until next year! We had to make them get out of the lake to go eat dinner. We are looking forward to going to this event every year!!

Ethan at school

Ethan loves to read and work on the computer in my room at school.

Kindergarten color days

It is always fun to dress in the color you are studying about in Kindergarten. Jon Jon had fun picking out clothes to wear for each day.

Back to School night at TX Roadhouse

We had lots of fun at the Texas Roadhouse Back to School night. The boys enjoyed playing games, winning prizes and meeting the firemen and checking out their cool equipment.

another surgery day

We are home from the hospital. Jon Jon had a harder time this time around. I think because he is older and more aware, he experienced more anxiety. He was quite nervous during the days leading up to surgery this time. The nerves really hit him when we arrived at the hospital this morning. He was upset and crying. The nurses decided I needed to back to the OR with him when they gave him the "go to sleep" medicine. I have to admit that was tough! It was hard to see him so upset about going to sleep. Even though he was very nervous about falling asleep, Jon Jon was so cooperative and tried hard to "blow up the balloon" through the tears. After so many surgeries, it was strange to have him fall asleep with me holding him this time. It was still not any easier to sit in the waiting room knowing he was asleep and being cut on!! Goodness, that part NEVER gets any easier!! As Joey and I sat with him after surgery, I was so thankful for the sweet people who work in hospital and take of the kids and their parents!! Jon Jon had a rough time after waking up from surgery this morning. He experienced a lot of throwing up this time. He has never thrown up after surgery before. This was new and not so exciting! The sweet nurses were so kind to him.

Jon Jon is just hanging out on the couch right now. He is coloring and resting. You can see him in the picture relaxing with Blue Baby (who has been with him for EVERY surgery!) and Birthday Bear. He got Birthday Bear this morning in the Bunny Tunnel on the way to surgery. He said he picked it because it is my birthday today and orange is my favorite color! He is such a sweet little bug!!

Thanks for praying for us. Please continue to pray for Jon Jon to have a speedy recovery!

in HIS love and mine,
